Bonus Draw

A chur le breathnú! (That’s “Check it out!” or “Take a look!” in Gaelic.) With better jackpot odds than 6/49 lotteries, it’s not hard to see why the Irish love their Lotto; it’s easier than ever for anybody to have a little “luck of the Irish!”

Why Play?

Eight lucrative prize tiers and impressive overall odds of one in 29 thanks to the bonus number help make the Irish 6/47 Lotto a gaming experience no player should miss!

And get excited for this: it’s 76% easier to win the Irish Lotto jackpot than in the British lottery!††††

Format

Lotto is easy and straightforward—play six numbers from 1-47. That’s it! To win the jackpot, which is always worth at least €2 million (and often more!), a player must match all six main numbers drawn but prizes are also awarded for matching as few as two main numbers and the bonus number. If there is no jackpot winner, the top prize will rollover until won.

Draws are held every Wednesday and Saturday evening when seven numbers are drawn from a selection of 47—the last of which is the bonus number.

History

As Ireland’s flagship National Lottery game, Lotto has been turning ordinary people into millionaires since 1988. With over a staggering €7 billion in total prizes from all games awarded since that time, it is little wonder that an impressive two-thirds of all Irish adults take part in the fun and excitement of their National Lottery. And with over €4.4 billion donated to youth initiatives, sport & recreation, health & welfare, art & culture, and national heritage projects, everybody wins!
